Model T is able to cater to guests with special needs. In the past, we have been able to accommodate large guests, wheel-chair bound guests, blind passengers (especially children), adults with heart conditions, pregnant mothers-to-be, adults recovering from knee surgery, and families with autistic children. We look forward to assisting all of our guests. If you need special accommodations, just ask us. Advance accommodations can be reserved via email or telephone, just contact us.
TIPS:
Only one person needs to pedal a Model T Horseless Carriage, the other members of your party can simply sit and relax. This allows those in wheelchairs and those recovering from surgery the freedom to “drive” while someone else pedals.
Children who are blind are given horns to honk as they enjoy their ride through Headwaters Park. Just let us know that a horn is needed. . .the kids get a kick out of this!
Pregnant women, especially those in their last trimester should be sure to have a working cell phone with them at all times while riding. . .just in case the blessed event arise a little sooner than later.
Families with autistic children can try on helmets and practice sitting in equipment before riding. We can also allow a “short” ride to get the autistic child ready for a “real” ride, however these are limited to non-festival Sunday, Mondays and tuesdays. We suggest non-festival Sundays and Mondays as times that tend to be quieter and less hectic in the park, making the ride more relaxing and enjoyable for all.
